(22-04-2020) In Ubon, there have been no increase in COVID-19 cases for a total of 16 days. With this, the city intends to take the best measures to put an end to the pandemic within the province. Therefore, from this day forward, any person who travels to Ubon by land or air will be examined and subjected to quarantine, if deemed necessary. To comply with the governor’s directive, UBU’s president has issued an urgent notice dated 21 April 2020 requesting that all UBU personnel strictly follow the protocols set forth by the city.

People who travel by plane and arrive at Ubon Ratchathani International Airport are to undergo some necessary health checks such as body temperature screening and monitoring. Additionally, the timeline of their travels and accommodations in each location before arriving to Ubon will be checked and recorded. Then, people who are considered at risk will be asked to comply with the quarantine measures. They will be transferred from the airport by a shuttle bus to the quarantine center at Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University. Anyone found to have symptoms of COVID-19 will be examined and sent to receive treatment at the city’s field hospital.

People who travel by land to enter Ubon will also be examined and subjected to quarantine, if necessary. The governor has declared that there are multiple monitoring points set up on the main roads that lead to entering Ubon from other provinces, including bus and train stations. Any persons found to have symptoms during the monitoring process or have history travelling to areas at risk will be requested by authorities to participate in the quarantine program arranged at a location determined by the province.

These protocols might bring about some inconveniences, but they are minor compared to helping clear our province from Covid-19. Remember that the stricter we follow the measures, the sooner we can return to our normal way of life.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
