A Mini International Fair was organized by the Office of International Relations, Ubon Ratchathani University. It was held on 6th August at UBU’s Canteen 2 allowing 25 international students from eight of UBU’s memorandum of understanding (MOU) network countries — Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Mozambique, the Philippines, and Vietnam — to present the culture of their respective countries. The project aims to provide cultural knowledge and encourage UBU students to use English with international students.
The fair was greatly successful with more than 300 participants visited the fair to gain exposure to new cultural experiences. There were traditional foods and games, languages, tourist attractions, and some special festivals of different countries to introduce to UBU students and staff. For instance, UBU students and staff can try dampling made by Chinese students, or they can try to wear Vietnamese traditional clothing called Áo dài. Moreover, visitors had chance to know more about Israel and Mozambique where are located in the Middle East and Southeast Africa. This allowed them to get to know new languages and cultures they do not familiar.
